Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how SolarSavings.energy ("we," "us," "our," or the "Company") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information in connection with your use of solarsavings.energy and its solar savings calculator and installer referral form (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

2. Information We Collect

Calculator information. When you use the solar savings calculator, we process the approximate home size or optional property address, ZIP code, state, and monthly electricity bill amount you enter, in order to generate roof, electricity usage, and solar savings estimates.

Installer request information. If you submit the installer request form, we additionally collect your full name, state, email address, and, if you choose to provide it, phone number, along with the fact and timestamp of your consent to be contacted.

Automatically collected information. We and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service, such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and timestamps, including through analytics tools such as Google Analytics if and when enabled.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use calculator inputs to query public and third-party data sources (described in Section 5) and compute the estimates displayed on the results page. We use installer request form submissions to: (a) share your information with third-party solar installation companies so they may contact you, as described in Section 4; (b) maintain a record of your consent to be contacted; (c) detect and prevent duplicate or fraudulent submissions; (d) operate, maintain, and improve the Service; and (e) comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing Your Information with Installers

If you submit the installer request form, your name, state, email address, and any phone number you choose to provide are shared with an independent, third-party solar installation companies ("Installers") operating in your area, for the purpose of having those Installers contact you directly about solar products and services. We do not share your exact property address with Installers through this form — an Installer that contacts you may ask for it directly once you are in touch. Installers are independent businesses, not owned or controlled by the Company. Once your information is shared with an Installer, that Installer's own use of your information is governed by its own privacy practices, not this policy, and any dispute regarding an Installer's use of your information or their communications with you is between you and that Installer. We do not sell your information to data brokers, and we do not share calculator-only inputs (ZIP, state, bill amount, without a name/email/phone) with Installers unless you separately submit the installer request form.

5. Third-Party Service Providers and Data Sources

To compute your estimate, we send address, ZIP code, and/or coordinate information to the following public and third-party data sources: the U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder, OpenStreetMap (Nominatim and Overpass), Open-Meteo, and NREL's OpenEI database. To operate the Service, we may also use infrastructure and service providers including Supabase (database hosting), Google (Apps Script / Sheets for lead delivery, and Analytics if enabled), and our hosting provider. Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy and terms, which we encourage you to review.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Service may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to operate core functionality (such as temporarily storing your calculator results in your browser session) and, where enabled, to measure site usage through analytics tools. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

7. Data Retention

We retain calculator and installer-request information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining a consent audit trail, preventing duplicate submissions, and complying with legal obligations, after which it may be deleted or anonymized in the ordinary course of our data management practices.

8. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information submitted through the Service. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You submit information to the Service at your own risk.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights regarding your personal information under applicable state privacy law, which may include the right to know what information we hold about you, to request deletion of that information, or to opt out of certain uses. You may stop future contact from us and Installers at any time at solarsavings.energy/opt-out, which takes effect immediately.

11. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no accepted industry standard for how to respond to such signals, and the Service does not currently respond to them differently than it would otherwise.

12. U.S.-Only Service

The Service is intended for use by residents of the United States regarding properties located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, and your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting the revised policy on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
